Hi, I’m Glenn!
I’ve spent over 50 years in soccer as a player, coach, broadcaster and analyst. From calling NYCFC matches to coaching at Rutgers University, I’ve experienced both the challenges and triumphs of building successful teams.
I’ve had the privilege of coaching players like Carli Lloyd and working with athletes at all levels, from youth leagues to the pros. Through my broadcasting and podcasts, I’ve shared insights and stories that bring the game to life.
What I’ve learned over the years is that soccer is more than just tactics. It’s about leadership, culture, and purpose. It’s about connecting people through shared experiences, both on and off the field.
Today, I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned, helping coaches and players develop and connect with the game in a meaningful way.
The work I do is all about connection and education. Soccer is more than just a game to me; it is a powerful tool for teaching, leadership, and growth. For over 50 years, I have had the privilege of experiencing the sport from many angles, whether it’s coaching, broadcasting, or sharing stories with players and fans alike. I have learned so much from the incredible people I have met along the way. It is these stories, the ones that are often untold, that inspire me every day.
In coaching, like in life, it is about more than just tactics. It is about culture, mindset, and leadership. The best teams are built on strong foundations, and great coaches know that it is the human connection that drives success. This philosophy guides me in everything I do, from coaching players at every level to sharing stories and insights with my audience.
I work with soccer coaches, players, and fans to help them understand the deeper aspects of the game—leadership, teamwork, and strategy. Through my Coaching Academy and On Frame Podcast, I offer insights into how the best teams operate, both on and off the field. I guide people to look beyond just the X’s and O’s, teaching them to focus on building lasting relationships and effective strategies for growth.
My mission is to help others embrace the powerful combination of leadership and strategy to reach their full potential. Whether through coaching or storytelling, I want to inspire others to create teams and environments where greatness is not only possible but inevitable.

Put It On Frame
For over 50 years, I’ve dedicated my life to soccer—whether it’s coaching teams, broadcasting games, or sharing stories that bring the sport to a global audience. With experience ranging from the youth level to the professional ranks, my journey has allowed me to gather invaluable lessons that I’m now sharing in Put it on Frame: Stories and Strategies from Top Soccer Coaches and Experts.
Put it on Frame is the first volume of an ongoing series where I delve into the philosophies, tactics, and leadership strategies of some of soccer’s top names. Inside, I share behind-the-scenes stories and insights from Emma Hayes, René Meulensteen, Mikey Varas, and many more. The book provides a deep look at the core principles that drive winning teams, making it an essential resource for coaches, players, and fans alike.
Writing this book has been a way for me to reflect on my own experiences, distill the wisdom I’ve gathered over the years, and offer a practical guide for anyone looking to take their coaching or soccer knowledge to the next level. But this is just the beginning. Future volumes of The Crooks Conversations will continue to explore the world of soccer, providing even deeper insights into coaching, leadership, team culture, and the tactics that make teams thrive.
